Making paper boxes is a great way to add special decorative details to a party or celebration. When you want to give a small gift to a special person, packaging it nicely is important. A homemade box with a lovingly designed template is the perfect way to do this.
We start preparing for Christmas celebrations weeks in advance. Decorative ornaments, Christmas cards, special meals, beautiful music, and gifts are all necessary details to make the day perfect. Giving gifts to people at Christmas, although based on different personal motivations, is a tradition rooted in history and a way to express gratitude and compassion.
In this project, we have designed a Christmas paper gift box that you can use to present your gifts. Paper is a favorite of crafters who want to show their creativity, and with a Cricut and an SVG template, you can make excellent paper crafts.
The templates for this box are available for both 12×12-inch and 12×24-inch mats and are compatible with Cricut Explore Air3, Cricut Explore Air 2, Cricut Explore Air, Cricut Explore One, and Cricut Explore modes. You can open the SVG file in Cricut Design Space and resize the template for incompatible models.
Materials needed for this project include:
- Cricut
- Thick colored paper (12×12 inches)
- Cutting mat
- Score item
- Fine-tip pen
- Glue
To make the box, change the dashed lines in the stencil to points in Cricut Design Space and place the paper with the glossy surface on the bottom so that the scoring lines stay inside the box and are not visible. After scoring, the Cricut will stop and ask you to insert the fine cutting blade. It will then cut the box template on your card and complete the task.

- Printer
- Paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Ruler
- Butter knife
Choose a paper type that is resistant to folding and strong enough to stand on its own. After printing the PDF template file on your paper, cut your paper along the lines with scissors. Use a ruler and butter knife to score the dotted lines without cutting them, making it easy to fold the lines. Complete the box with glue and fill it with beautiful gifts.
