I wanted the flowers to remain expressive in a single color. The gaps between the petals describe the rose’s curled center and the lily’s stamens, while the longer spaces between the leaves give each stem room to bend. Those details let the flowers carry their character through shape alone, without shading or a colored petal palette.
Both the background and the spaces within the flowers are transparent. When you place a PNG over pale paper colors or a lightly textured background in your layout, that background shows between the black shapes. You can keep the floral detail visible while matching the rest of the composition to your own lettering and colors.
Use the rose as the main illustration on a folded card, with a short message below its stem. The taller daisy arrangement can sit along one side of a spring invitation, leaving the opposite side for the event details. For a pair of botanical prints, place the lily and rose on matching pale backgrounds and give each flower the same amount of surrounding space. Their different petal shapes then become the focus of the pair.
Each flower has its own PNG file, so you can place it directly in a layout without cropping it from a sheet of several designs. Keep the original proportions when resizing, and leave enough space around the leaves and flower heads to separate them from nearby text.
