Daisy, lily and rose flower outlines with curved stems and pointed leaves for printable stencil templates, tracing and pattern transfer.

These daisy, lily and rose outlines give you three flower patterns to trace, transfer or turn into handmade paint stencils. Download the free printable flower stencil PDF, which includes six pages with two outline versions of each design.

I like the contrast between the broad leaves and the smaller details inside the flowers. The daisy’s petals spread around a simple center, while the lily’s stamens and the rose’s curled petals give you different lines to follow. Each stem carries the flower into a tall composition that can sit along the side of a box, a wooden panel or a page without needing a surrounding floral border.

For a DIY flower stencil, choose the version made up of the individual petal, leaf and stem outlines. Print it at the size you need, then trace or transfer those shapes onto your stencil material. Cut out the enclosed flower shapes while keeping the material between them intact. Those remaining connections hold the template together as you apply paint through the openings. The rose can become a painted detail on a keepsake box lid, while the longer daisy arrangement can decorate the side of a planter.

The alternate pages add an outer contour around each complete flower design. For a paper decoration, color the petals, leaves and stems first, then cut around that outside boundary, leaving the interior drawing on the paper. This gives you a decorated flower cut-out to place on a card or display board.

You can also use the flower outlines as tracing patterns for wood burning. Transfer the lily onto a wooden bookmark or the rose onto a small box lid, then follow the drawn contours and add your own shading where you want more depth. The printed page provides the pattern while leaving the surface treatment to your handwork.
