We created this two-layer peacock wall clock vector design for CNC and laser cutting machines. Our aim was to combine ornamental artistry with a solid, functional structure, making the clock both decorative and practical. In the free download package, we’ve included multiple file formats so you can work with your preferred software and materials.
A Two-Layer Structure Optimized for Cutting
Our design is built around two distinct layers, each adding depth and clarity:
- Upper Layer: Two peacocks face each other, their flowing tail feathers shaping the circular frame. Roman numerals are integrated into the clock face, and every ornamental element is optimized for laser cutting with no floating or disconnected parts.
- Lower Layer: A simple silhouette that acts as the base plate. It strengthens the build while providing contrast to make the details of the upper layer stand out.
Symmetry and Artistic Detail
We designed the clock to emphasize harmony and elegance:
- Mirrored peacock figures form a balanced, refined composition.
- Tail feathers radiate around the face, creating a decorative frame.
- Roman numerals add a timeless touch that enhances the ornamental style.
Material and Color Variations
Because the design is layered, you can explore many creative combinations:
- Modern contrast: A black-painted MDF upper plate with a natural wood base.
- Bold and contemporary: Acrylic sheets in complementary or contrasting colors.
- Warm and natural: Plywood or veneer with visible wood grain for added character.
In addition to layered cutting, the upper layer alone can be cut from metal using a plasma cutter. This variation creates a striking and durable single-layer wall clock that highlights the ornamental peacock details in a completely different way.
You can resize the files in any vector or CAD program without quality loss, making it easy to adapt the clock to different mechanisms or wall sizes.
Cutting Notes for CNC Routers
The design files are prepared at a standard width of 30 cm. For CNC router cutting, we recommend using a maximum 1/8 inch (≈3.175 mm) flat or spiral end mill. While 1/8 inch bits are faster and more durable, a 2 mm bit provides the cleanest results for fine ornamental details. Another effective method is to remove bulk material quickly with a 1/8 inch tool and then switch to a 2 mm bit for precision in the intricate sections.
