Mickey Mouse’s birthday is celebrated on November 18, 1928, marking his first appearance in the short film Steamboat Willie at the Colony Theatre in New York. Created by cartoonist Walter Elias Disney—who, interestingly, once had a fear of mice—Mickey became a symbol of imagination and joy. During difficult times, Disney lived in a small church room where mice often appeared. To face his fear, he began drawing them, unknowingly setting the stage for the world’s most famous cartoon character. By 1929, Mickey’s image spread across children’s books, toys, mascots, and keychains, eventually earning him a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1978.
Generations have grown up with Mickey Mouse in his iconic red shorts, yellow shoes, and white gloves, alongside friends like Goofy, Donald Duck, Pluto, and Minnie Mouse. In this project, we prepared silhouette drawings of the Magic Kingdom Castle, Mickey Mouse logos, hands, ears, and of course Minnie Mouse too.
