Model planes can be used for different purposes such as decorative objects, DIY activity and 3D puzzles. This wooden retro airplane model can be a great collectible piece for these people. If you wish, you can also paint your model plane by using wood painting techniques in suitable colors according to the ambience of the area where you will display it.
You can use machines like scroll saw and dremel to make a wooden model airplane for DIY and crafting activities. These machines are the most suitable tools for cutting and shaping wood material. If you are going to make a cardboard model airplane, you can use crafting materials such as a utility knife, scissors and glue. Of course, you also must have a printer to print the templates required for cutting.

In this project, we have drawn a design where you can get a 3D model plane by cutting 2D parts with laser cutting machines and assembling them. The whole project consists of 20 pieces of 3mm thickness. The design is inspired by vintage biplane images. It can be the perfect choice for classic aircraft lovers with its double wings. Although this drawing is mainly a laser cutting project, the PDF outline template file can be printed on the printer and used as a template. So it can also be used for DIY or crafting. For example, with this template, you can cut 2D parts on a scroll saw or you can make a DIY model plane from cardboard material using crafting equipments.
