The set includes DXF, SVG, DWG, CDR, and PDF formats, cut-ready for 6 mm (¼ in) sheet material. Nine interlocking parts. No glue. Five structural pieces carry the load; four decorative mounts lock the wheels in place. The assembled stand has scrolling side rails, heart-spoked wheels, and shallow star engravings.
Designed for real tables, not just renders.
Art of Design
The side rails arch. The top scallops. The wheel spokes repeat the same curve. Nothing competes. Engraved rings on the wheels and shallow lines at the tabletop edge catch the laser’s burn tone, creating a layered trim effect without extra parts. MDF reads warm; acrylic reads bright. Both cut clean on this geometry.
Science of Fit
Slots are sized for 6 mm ± 0.2 mm stock. Tabs seat firmly; joints close without forcing. Sheet under 5.8 mm will flex under a loaded tray. Sheet over 6.2 mm will bind at the joints.
Cut paths and engrave paths sit on separate layers, so your laser software or CAM application assigns toolpaths without manual sorting.
Assembly sequence: side frames and arches key together first, axle straps align the wheels, then the top locks with four tabs that resist racking. Under fifteen minutes, start to finish.
Capacity and Dimensions
The scalloped edge curves inward, so a 29 cm cake sits contained within the rim rather than overhanging it. The 26.5 cm figure applies to cupcake placement, where you want clearance from the edge dips.
- Top tray diameter: 29 cm
- Usable flat area: 26.5 cm
- Maximum cake diameter: 29 cm (the scalloped rim contains the cake; the 26.5 cm flat zone is the relevant limit for cupcake placement only)
- Cupcake capacity, loose / tight:
- Mini (3.5-4 cm): 18-20 / 21-22
- Small (~5 cm): 13-14 / 15
- Standard (6.5-7 cm): 9-10 / 11
- Large (~8 cm): 7-8 / 9
- XL (~9 cm): 6-7 / 8
- Jumbo (10-11 cm): 5-6 (5 recommended if heavily frosted)
Bench note: The wheel engravings are positioned so the laser’s natural kerf darkening forms a faint outer rim. A depth effect using zero extra parts.
Scroll Saw Workshop Note
The PDF template prints at full scale. Adhere it to your 6 mm stock and cut the outline. Maintain firm blade tension through the tight scroll curves; the lines are clean enough to track without a magnifier.
