This printable PDF holds four butterfly outline templates, one butterfly per A4 landscape page, so each design prints large enough to trace, color, or cut without being crowded by the others. The four are the same butterflies as the rest of the collection: a daisy and vine wing, a veined monarch, a rose and leaf wing, and a dotted, spotted one.
The butterflies in this PDF are drawn as open outlines, not as the solid black fills you get in the SVG, PNG, and cutting versions. That is the reason a separate PDF exists. A printable template needs a line you can work with: a line to trace onto wood or fabric, a line to cut along with scissors or a craft knife, and an inside you can color or leave open. A solid black butterfly gives you none of that on paper, so for this format the design is reduced to its outlines, with the wing detail drawn as line work you can follow rather than filled shapes.
The four designs are not all the same difficulty, and that is useful when more than one person is crafting. The monarch and the dotted butterfly are the simplest, with broader shapes that are easier for a child or beginner to color or cut around. The daisy and vine and the rose designs carry much finer interior detail, the kind that is hard to cut by hand cleanly, even for an adult. Rather than treat that as a limit, use it: cut the outer butterfly shape and color the fine interior detail instead of cutting it. That way the detailed designs work for every age, younger users can color the interior detail while older users cut the outer shape, and no one is fighting a blade through a thin petal.
From there the uses are wide. Tape a printed page to wood and follow the outline as a scroll saw pattern, or trace the same line for a wood burning design, since the outlines suit both cutting and pyrography on the same piece. Transfer a butterfly onto fabric with carbon paper or a light box for an embroidery pattern or a felt appliqué shape. Cut the shapes from cardstock or colored paper for cards, gift tags, and scrapbook layers, or use a printed outline as a stencil. For younger crafters, the same pages work as coloring sheets and simple cutting practice. That makes the PDF a useful set of butterfly patterns for tracing, coloring, paper cutting, stencil work, scroll saw reference, wood burning, and embroidery transfer.
