This is the DXF download for our cute cat and kitten set: one AutoCAD 2000 DXF file with four big-eye cat and kitten drawings. We prepared this version for cut and engrave style workflows, with the outside contours placed on the cut layer and the inner character linework kept for engraving, marking, or reference.
These cats are detailed character drawings, not single-piece connected cutwork silhouettes. We kept the eyes, fur shapes, paws, whiskers, and facial details as visible linework because the character of the drawing is in those details. For laser work, the practical route is to cut the outside contour and engrave or mark the inside drawing, so the finished piece comes off the material as one cat-shaped form instead of many loose interior parts.
The same linework can also be used without cutting the outer contour. If you want the kitten drawing directly on a surface, use the inner artwork as engraving or marking geometry and leave the outside contour unused. That works better for projects where the cat should be drawn onto wood, acrylic, card, or another surface rather than cut out as a separate piece.
We used CAD curve geometry in the DXF, including splines, ellipses, and circles, so the character lines are kept as drawing geometry rather than a flat raster image. How the file imports, displays, or maps layers to operations depends on your own laser, CAD, CAM, or cutting software, so check the drawing before production and assign cut or engrave settings on your side.
We drew the four kittens with distinct poses and fur types: a fluffy seated kitten with a large tail, a round-faced cat with raised tail and whiskers, a front-facing kitten with heavier fur shapes, and a seated kitten with open paws and a curled tail. Check your scale before small cutting, engraving, or vinyl plotting, because the fine interior linework in the fur and eyes can become too tight to process cleanly if the drawing is reduced heavily.
