These free cute cat vector designs started as four big-eye kitten and cat characters. We drew each one with a different face, fur shape, pose, and tail movement, then prepared the set as eight design versions: four plain character drawings and four matching outer-contour versions.
The goal was not to make four small variations of the same cat. The shared black and white cartoon style keeps the set together, but each kitten has its own expression and body shape: one is fluffier and more ornamental, one is cleaner and more upright, one is compact and front-facing, and one sits with open paws and a curled tail.
The outer-contour versions are an important part of the file set. These cats are detailed character drawings, not one-piece connected cutwork silhouettes. We kept the eyes, fur, paws, whiskers, and facial details as part of the artwork, then added contour versions for projects where the inside detail should stay visible while the outside edge gives the cat a cleaner finished shape.
That structure lets the same artwork work in different ways across the file formats. A contour version can be printed and cut by hand, used as a shaped graphic, engraved inside and cut outside, or lifted into a flat 3D model. A plain version is better when you only need the character drawing itself for layout, clipart, engraving, coloring, or vector editing.

Fluffy Seated Kitten with Large Tail
This kitten has the busiest fur shape in the set, with pointed tufts around the head, cheeks, chest, and tail. We gave it large round eyes and a small seated body so the face stays central, while the oversized tail balances the drawing on the right side. Round-Faced Cat with Raised Tail
This cat is cleaner and more upright, with a round face, long whiskers, rounded paws, and a tail lifted behind the body. The face is more open than the fluffy kitten, so it reads clearly as a black and white cute cat vector or kitten clipart style design. The raised tail gives it a playful shape without making the drawing too busy.
Front-Facing Fluffy Kitten
This version has the most compact pose, with a wide head, heavy fur shapes, and a straight front-facing expression. We kept the body low and simple so the big eyes and cheek fur carry most of the character. It is the strongest choice when the design needs to feel like a round, front-facing cartoon kitten rather than a side-balanced pose.
Seated Kitten with Open Paws and Curled Tail
The last cat sits with its paws turned forward and the tail curling behind the body. We kept the face soft and open, then added movement through the fur around the ears, cheeks, chest, and tail. The visible paw pads separate it from the other seated kittens and give the drawing a more playful cute cat look.
